Course Overview
This course is designed to enable candidates to develop an understanding of the variety of roles and skills undertaken throughout the photographic industry. It is further designed to allow learners to select an individual pathway towards career progression. Learners will be given the opportunity for experimentation, innovation and research in order to evaluate and appreciate the diversity of expertise which exists within the industry.

- Education: NFQ Level 5 in a relevant discipline when accessing a Level 6 programme. - Previous Experience: Applicants must be able to demonstrate a broad range of knowledge, skills and compentencies relevant to the course and be able to exercise initiative and independence when carrying out course activities.
- Past learners are engaged in a variety of employments – working as professional photographers or are selfemployed/freelance. Others have set up their own studios.
- Holders of this qualification may take up places in third level colleges and Institutes of Technologies such as; LSAD, DIT and IADT.
- Institutes of Technology. Universities and other Colleges around the country may be offering opportunities for further studies in lens based art.
