QQI Level 5 Art Craft Design 5M1984

This one-year, QQI Level 5 (MORNINGS ONLY) course equips the learner with the vocational skills and knowledge of traditional and modern art and craft disciplines including drawing, painting and ceramics as well as working with a variety of materials including eg. clay, wire and textiles.

This course is a full-time course with classes run over 5 mornings which may suit learners who may have other commitments.

The portfolio prepared during this course can be used to apply for the portfolio assessment in LM076 Product Design and Technology or LM099 Architecture in the University of Limerick (UL)

On successful completion of this course learners will be awarded a 120 credit QQI level 5 Major Award in Art, Craft and Design.

  • Education: NFQ Level 4 or equivalent when accessing a Level 5 programme. CERFL proficiency at B2 for access to Level 5 courses for those whose first language is not English Mature learner entry requirements available via the local ETB pathway Additional requirements may apply to non-EU/EEA Applicants and may be subject to full international fees (Please refer to Information for International Learners) *Each provider may have additional requirements, not outlined above.
  • Aptitude: Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course.
  • Previous Experience: Applicants must be able to demonstrate a moderate range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course, be able to work with responsibility and demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative.
  • Holders of this qualification take up places in Third Level Colleges and Institutes of Technology. NCAD, DIT, Crawford Art College and Art Colleges abroad.
